SHIMBA HILLS

Waddle into the fascinating world of our most endangered bird and Animals off the beaten track and away from the tourist traps. In an easy, 1 hour-stroll, across the rain-forest, tarred road, and wooded boardwalk, we will go into secret spaces that only the penguins know. From encountering sprightly new-born chicks during breeding-season (March to July) to seeing the adults in their annual molt (September to November), or just to enjoy the sight of birds being birds, you’ll learn how to tell a "she" from a "he", how to tell their age, and also participate in real-time research by helping to collect data about the birds we encounter. We will meet a supporting cast of coastal creatures; birds, insects, plants, reptiles and mammals.
