Eleven Days Precious Gift Safari


Day 1: Tsavo East

Pick up from the hotel at around 6.00 am driving along Mombasa- Nairobi highway for 100 kms and a stop over for coffee and short calls. Proceed for 6 kms to Tsavo East (The largest park in Kenya which covers an area of 13,747 km2) and arrive at Bachuma. Begin the game drive en route to Aruba dam (A water hole where animals come to drink water). Physical attractions include Tsavo River, Yatta Plateau which is 300 km2, Mdanda Rock, Lugard Falls, Voi seasonal River and Aruba dam.  You have also a chance to see animals such as red elephants, rhinos, leopards, cheetah, and giraffes. Proceed with the game drive to Ashnil Aruba lodge where you will check in at around 1.00 pm. Have lunch and relax till 4.00 pm after which you will start another game drive till 6.30 pm then back to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Ashnil Aruba Lodge.

Day 2: Taita Hills

Wake up at around 5.30 am, have a cup of coffee and start an early morning game drive before the main breakfast. This time you have a chance of seeing the big cats of Tsavo. Back to the lodge for the main breakfast at around 8.30 am followed by the last game drive and depart to Taita Hills salt lick driving through a distance of 80 kms. Arrive early afternoon, check in at Taita Hills Game Lodge where you will have your lunch. Depart at around 2.30 pm to Sarova Salt Lick Lodge with a Game en route where you will have a chance to see animals at the water hole, while at Sarova Salt Lick Lodge. Proceed for another game drive at 4.00 pm until 6.30 pm. Taita Hills wild life sanctuary was founded by the Hilton early seventies. It covers an area of 24,000 Ha. Physical attractions include thorny bushes, acacia forests, arid and savannah, swamp and Taita hills among others. Animals found here include elephants, lions, cheetah, zebras, giraffes, and many different types of birds such as ostriches, horny bills, guinea fowls, kingfishers and weaver birds. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Salt lick lodge.

Day 3: Tsavo West

Wake up at around 5.30 am, have a cup of coffee and start an early morning game drive before the main breakfast. This time you have a chance of seeing the big cats of Tsavo. Back to the lodge for the main breakfast at around 8.30 am followed by game en route to Tsavo West, (The second largest park in Kenya after Tsavo East, which covers an area of 9,065 km2 and 13,747 km2 for Tsavo East). Begin a game drive en route to Kilaguni Serena Lodge checking in at around 1.00 pm time for lunch and relax till 4.00 pm. Another evening game drive where you visit the rhino sanctuary and have a chance to see the black rhinos. Tsavo west is a paradise for animals including elephants, giraffes, leopards, cheetah, zebras, buffalos among others. The landscape of Tsavo west is grassland savannah with acacia bushes with Mzima Springs and Shetani Larva being the special attractions. The game drive goes on till 6.30 pm where you drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Kilaguni Serena Lodge.

Day 4: Amboseli

Wake up at around 6.00 am for a full breakfast followed by a game drive en route to Mzima Springs where you have a chance to see hippos and crocodiles. The spring produces over one million litres of water per day. Drive to Chyulu gate checking out of Tsavo West driving to Amboseli with a convoy. You will have a stop over at Shetani Larva for photos and proceed to Kimana gate in Amboseli 80 kms from Tsavo West. Drive to (Kibo Safari Camp) time for lunch till 4.00 pm. An evening game drive till 6.30 pm then back to camp for dinner and overnight at Kibo Safari Camp / Amboseli Sentrim Camp. Amboseli covers an area of 390 km2. Physical attractions are grassland savannah, swamps and a view of Mt Kilimanjaro (The highest mountain in Africa, 5,895metres). It’s also a home to elephants, giraffes, cheetah, zebras, gnus, hyenas, buffalos among others. Amboseli is also a paradise for birds.

Day 5: Aberdare

Wake up at 6.00 am for a full breakfast and depart to Aberdares.  Arrive at around 1.00 pm and Check in at Aberdare Country Club for lunch and there after you will be transferred to the Aberdare National Park. Aberdare covers an area of 877 km2 and is a tropical rain forest. Physical attractions include Bamboo forests, eucalyptus, jacaranda forests, water falls (Chania Falls), Aberdare ranges, green highlands among others. Animals seen include elephants, hyenas, rhinos, buffalos, lions, water bucks, bush bucks, bongo antelopes among others. This is also a home for birds. The altitude is 2,132 meters above the sea level and lies near to the equator. Relax at the Ark (One of the tree Top Hotels in Kenya). You have a chance to see animals at the water hole while at the tree top hotel. Dinner and overnight at The Ark.

Day 6: Lake Bogoria

Wake up at 6.30 am for a full breakfast and depart to Lake Bogoria. Arrive at the gate at around 1.30 pm and begin a game drive along the shores of the lake and then drive to Lake Bogoria Resort & SPA for check-in and lunch. Relax till 4.00 pm where you will proceed to another game drive along the shores of Lake Bogoria. Visit the Geshiry Hot Spring where you will have a walk for one hour. Lake Bogoria is located along the Great Rift Valley with a landscape of larva after the volcanic activities, semi arid and semi desert. It’s attractive because of the hills surrounding the lake. This is also an alkaline lake covering an area of 43 km2 with a depth of 30 metres. The altitude is 3,172 metres above sea level. The lake is a home to flamingos, pelicans, water birds, cormorants. Animals found are impalas, greater kudus, warthogs and Grant gazelles among others. Dinner and overnight at Lake Bogoria Resort & SPA.

Day 7: Lake Nakuru

Wake up at around 6.00 am for a full breakfast and then depart to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving at Flamingo Hill Camp late afternoon for lunch. Lake Nakuru is alkaline a home to millions of flamingos and pelicans. Lake Nakuru covers an area of 202 km2 of which 40 km2 is covered by the soda ash lake. Physical attractions include the euphorbia trees, fever Acacia forests and the landscape is a grassland savannah. Most animals seen are white rhinos, lions, Rothschild giraffes, leopards, buffalos, gazelles among others. At 4.00 pm, start an evening game drive till 6.30 pm then back the Flamingo Hill  Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Masai Mara

Wake up at 6.00 am for a full breakfast and then depart to Masai Mara. Arrive at the Gate and begin a game drive en route to Mara Fig Tree Camp arriving at around 1.30 pm time for lunch. Relax till 4.00 pm followed by an evening game drive till 6.30 pm then back to the camp for dinner and overnight. Masai Mara National Reserve has an area of 1,584 km2 and it’s one of the famous and most visited national reserves in Kenya. Physical attractions include Mara River, Talek River, Loita hills, Serengeti plains and the annual wild beast migration during July to September. The landscape is woodland and grassland savannah with acacia forests. Masai Mara is famous for lions, elephants, leopards, cheetah, gazelles, rhinos, hyenas among others. It’s also attractive for bird watchers and news analysts.

Day 9: Masai Mara

Wake up at 5.30 am for a cup of coffee followed by an early morning game drive and back to the camp for a full breakfast. After breakfast proceed for another game drive visiting Mara River for hippos, crocodiles and the migration point of the wild beasts. (There’s another option of proceeding for a game drive with a packed lunch till evening). Dinner and overnight at Mara Fig Tree Camp.

 

Day 10: Lake Naivasha

Wake up at around 6.00 am for a full breakfast and depart to Lake Naivasha arriving at around 1.30 pm. Check in at at Lake Naivasha Sawela lodge or Kongoni Safari Lodge for lunch and then relax till 3.30 pm where you will have a boat ride or birds nature walk (Optional at a small fee). Lake Naivasha is a fresh water lake which covers an area of 162 km2 and is one of the great lakes found in the Great Rift Valley). In this region, the landscape is highland. Physical attractions include Fever Acacia, Mt Longonot (which is one of the volcanic mountains). Animals seen include hippos, Birds (Pelicans, Eurasian Roller, king fisher, fish eagle etc). Dinner and overnight at Lake Naivasha Sawela Lodge or Kongoni Safari Lodge.

Day 11: Lake Naivasha - Nairobi - Mombasa / Diani

Wake up at around 6.00 am for a full breakfast. After breakfast, proceed to Nairobi. You will have your lunch at a restaurant in Nairobi and then you will be transferred to the Airport and board a flight to Diani / Mombasa arriving in the evening.

Baiji White Dolphin Baiji White Dolphin, its other name is Chinese River Dolphin, it can only be found in the Yangtze River in China. These mammals could grow to eight feet long and weigh up to a quarter of a ton. They relied on echolocation to navigate and hunt for pray due to their tiny eyes and very poor eyesight. Living in the Yangtze for 20 million years, their numbers declined drastically from the 1950s onward. As China industrialized, the river was used for fishing, transportation and hydroelectricity which had a huge effect on the mammals. Seven Days Wild Wonder Safari Day 1: Arusha You will be picked early in the morning and depart to Arusha arriving late afternoon time for lunch.
